Shelburne Police have pulled a suspected drunk driver off the road.
On Thanksgiving Monday evening (7:30 pm), an officer stopped a vehicle in the area of Highway 89 and County Road 124.
Police say the vehicle had been swerving into opposite lanes of traffic.
The driver was given a roadside breath test and was arrested for impaired driving. The arresting officer reports there was an open container of alcohol and marijuana within the driver’s reach.
Back at the police station, officers say the driver provided further breath samples and had more than triple the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
A 25 year old man of Richmond Hill faces more charges including dangerous driving.
