There are 30 confirmed and probable cases of measles in our region.
Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health says that number is as of April 22 as cases continue to climb.
Medical Officer of Health and CEO Dr. Nicola Mercer is encouraging anyone who is not fully vaccinated to take action today.
Dr. Mercer says measles can have serious consequences, especially for children and immunocompromised people.
She says two doses of the vaccine offers a 99 per cent protection against the virus.
Officials say if you’re not fully vaccinated or have any symptoms or questions, contact your healthcare provider or visit wdgpublichealth.ca/measles.
