Honda Alliston will not be moving some or all of its production to the US for the foreseeable future.
A statement from Honda Canada was released today in light of morning news reports from Japan indicated the automaker was considering moving production to the US.
The statement very clearly indicates that the manufacturing facility in Alliston will operate at full capacity for the foreseeable future with no changes being considered at this time.
The statement goes on to note that Canadian production will “remain at full capacity thanks to domestic sales, which are up 9% in the first quarter of this year.”
