More of the shops in the new plaza in Shelburne are getting set to open, including the new McDonald’s.
The very first McDonald’s restaurant in Shelburne at 800 Ojibway Road, in the Emerald Crossing Plaza, will officially open its doors Thursday September 1st.
Local resident and Operations Supervisor Leigha Cook is overseeing the location and says people can expect to see members of their community providing fun, friendly and fast service.
She says the restaurant is adding about 90 jobs to Shelburne.
Cook says they plan on giving back to the community as much as they can, having already given support to the planned Shelburne Splash Pad, sponsoring the Rotary Club, and are sponsoring a local hockey team.
Cook started her career 25 years ago, first as a crew member, eventually working her way up to a full-time manager and has worked at other locations in Edmonton and Italy.
She’s been named Outstanding Manager of the Year, and is the recipient of an award that celebrates the top 1% of General Managers.
