Some funding is being given to the Orangeville Public Library to get technology needed to create a new learning hub.
Thanks to a $30,400 grant from the Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group’s L.E.A.F or Learning and Engagement Accelerator Fund initiative, the Library’s “Creation Lab” will come to life.
The lab will be implemented at the Alder Street location to bring in robotics and circuitry kits, computers, a green screen and video equipment, and a vinyl cutter.
People of all ages who are entrepreneurs or crafters, will get a chance to use the equipment.
The grant was announced to support programs and facilities to re-energize learning and engagement within the community.
Orangeville Public Library’s ‘Creation Lab’ submission was one of 21 community projects that received funding.
The new space is expected to open later this year.
