Now that businesses in downtown Orangeville are re-opening for some in-person shopping, the Town wants people to mind the parking bylaws.
The Town of Orangeville is reminding motorists that the two hour parking rules are being strictly enforced.
It’s to ensure spaces will be available for residents and visitors to the downtown will have a spot to park to go to these businesses.
Orangeville Council had implemented a moratorium on downtown parking enforcement as a form of pandemic relief but that ended on April 1, just days before the provincial shutdown was announced.
With the recruitment of additional enforcement staff, the Town now provides after-hours by-law enforcement coverage.
The service operates regular business hours plus Monday to Friday from 4:30-8:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Any questions can be sent via email to bylaw@orangeville.ca.
Longer-term parking is available, free of charge, in downtown lots and some side streets for those needing extended parking times.
