It’s a sure sign of spring – the return of Farmers’ Markets.
The Orangeville open air Farmers’ Market is opening again Saturday May 8th.
Every Saturday at 90 Broadway, the market will be set up in the parking lot across from Town Hall, with roughly 28 vendors set up outside, and practicing COVID-19 safety protocols.
The parking lot offers more room for physical distancing while still allowing for plenty of vendors, so shoppers have a variety of
delicious, local options to choose from.
Some vendors may change week to week, and right now during the stay-at-home order, only food vendors will be permitted.
Some of the things you can expect this season are:
o Vendors will be positioned 10 feet apart
o Some vendors take debit but if paying cash, please bring an assortment of bills and
coin so you can pay without requiring change.
o You will not be permitted to touch the products/produce
o Most food will be pre-bagged. Vendors cannot touch re-usable bags/containers so be
prepared to load fill your own bags.
o No eating inside the Market.
o The number of people in permitted in the market at any one time will be limited to
ensure enough space for social distancing.
Shoppers are being asked to:
o Keep 6ft distance from vendors, other shoppers, and any friends you may encounter.
o Masks are recommended.
o Please shop alone or with only one other person.
o Socialize outside the market.
o Follow the social distancing directional traffic flow indicators within the market
o “Go” before you shop – Public washrooms are CLOSED.
