This week is the last week for our Shelburne Police.
The Shelburne Police Service – that has been serving the community since 1879 – will cease operations as of Noon on Thursday.
Shelburne, like Orangeville, will be switching to coverage by Dufferin OPP.
Most recently Shelburne Police has been made up of 16 sworn officers, 2 civilians, 1 special constable and 5 auxiliary constables.
For Chief Kent Moore, he started his career with Shelburne in 1987, and has been leading the force as Chief since 2005.
Moore, along with Special Constable Kerr, and Karen McLean — all have more than 100 years of service between them with Shelburne Police.
Thursday, Shelburne police cars and officers will come off the road at noon, and return to the office at Town Hall, one last time.
