There were two babies in the area considered to be the first babies born in the New Year.
It was a boy at Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville who was born at 6:02 am, weighing 8 pounds and 8 ounces.
Tristan Derek Peter Edwards is the first baby for mom Simone Edwards and the second grandchild for Sue and Derek Edwards.
Stevenson Memorial Hospital’s baby was a girl.
Baby Sloane at 10:54 pm on January 1st weighing 6 pounds and 8 ounces and is the first baby for parents Danielle and Robert.
