Monsanto taking legal action against California for decision to list glyphosate as carcinogen.
Monsanto has launched legal action against California for a decision to list glyphosate as a possible carcinogen.
The RoundUp manufacturer filed the lawsuit last Wednesday.
Back on July 7th, the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment in California added glyphosate to Proposition 65 which requires the state to publish a list of chemicals that may cause cancer.
As a result, any products containing even trace amounts of glyphosate must have a warning label that the product could cause cancer.
But on Nov. 9th the Journal of the National Cancer Institute published that there are no links between glyphosate and cancer.
And Monsanto maintains that glyphosate is a sound and necessary tool for America's farmers.
Quantas will fuel its jets with bio-fuel from a Quebec-based company.
The crops will however, be grown in Australia.
Agrisoma Biosciences Inc. of Gatineau will supply the biofuel to Australia's Qantas Airways made from Carinata seed, a non-food, industrial-type mustard seed that produces oil suitable for aviation and diesel fuel.
The partnership is the first of its kind in Australia.
A total of 400,000 hectares will produce more than 200 million litres of bio jet fuel and replace 30 to 50 per cent of the airline's annual fuel needs.
