At the Keady Livestock Market on Tuesday (May 16), 1953 head of steers, heifers, cows and bulls were on offer.
Grass type cattle sold steady while heavier cattle sold 2 - 5 higher. Cull cows and bulls sold fully steady.
Steer calves up to 600 pounds from $1.95 to $2.49 per pound while heifers sold to $2.16
Steers weighing 6-800 pounds to $2.49 while heifers sold from $1.62 to $2.12.
Steers weighing 800-1000 pounds sold from $1.83 to $2.07 while same weight heifers sold to $1.78.
Cull cows sold from 73 to 94 cents while bulls sold to $1.07.
At the calf, sheep and goat barn 80 dollar calves were on offer, selling slightly higher.
Holstein male calves weighing 100 to 150 pounds sold up to $460 per head.
There were 100 sheep and goats on offer.
Market lambs weighing 50-64 pounds sold to $3.20 per pound while Nanny Goats sold up to $235 per head.
At the small animal sale, Rabbits sold to $12 each while Racing Pigeons topped at 7. English Game Hens stopped at 6 dollars per bird while Peacocks sold to 85.
