Keady Livestock Market Report

At the Keady Livestock Market on Tuesday, 723 head of steers, and heifers, cows and bulls were on offer.

All classes of stocker and feeder cattle sold on good demand at steady prices while cows sold steady.

Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold from $1.71  to $2.26per pound, while heifers sold to a $1.87.

Steers weighing 6-800 pounds sold from $1.32  to $1.96 and heifers sold to $1.64.

Steers weighing 800-1000 pounds sold to $1.77, while the same weight in heifers sold from $1.38 to $1.56.

Cull cows sold from 57 to 82 cents per pound, while bulls stopped at a dollar nine.

At the calf, sheep and goat barn --88 dollar calves were on offer, selling steady.

Holstein male calves weighing 100 to 150 pounds sold up to $210 per head.

Market lambs weighing 50-64 pounds sold to $2.57 per pound while Billy Goats sold up to $185.00 per head.

At the small animal sale, Americana Roosters sold to 6 dollars per bird while New Zealand Buck Rabbits stopped at 9 dollars a piece.

Guinea Fowl sold to 8 dollars each while Bronze Tom Turkeys topped at 36.
