At the Keady Livestock Market on yesterday (Tues.) 469 head of steers, heifers and cows were on offer.
A good offering of stocker and feeder cattle sold fully steady while cull cows and bulls sold slightly easier.
Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold from $2.07 to $2.27 per pound, while heifers sold to a $2.13.
Steers weighing 6-800 pounds sold from $1.85 to $2.01 and heifers sold to $1.83.
Steers weighing between 800 and 1,000 pounds sold to $1.89, while heifer sold from $1.10 up to a $1.68.
Cull cows sold from 65-cents to 94-cents per pound, while bulls sold to a $1.34.
At the calf, sheep and goat barn -- 110 dollar calves were on offer, selling slightly higher.
Holstein male calves weighing 100 to 150 pounds sold up to $340 per head.
There were 82 sheep, lambs and goats sold.
Market lambs weighing 50-64 pounds sold to $1.90 per pound, while heavier lambs weighing 95-109 pounds sold to $2.07.
Billy Goats sold up to $130 per head.
At the small animal sale, Pheasant Hens sold to 14 dollars per bird while Lionhead Rabbits stopped at 10 dollars a piece. Frizzell Poultry sold to 5 dollars each while Tom Turkeys topped at 30.
