Local Farmers at Plowing Match

Several local farmers did well during the plowing competitions at the IPM.

Several farmers from our region placed very well during the plowing competitions at the International Plowing Match in eastern Ontario.

Tom Evans of Tiverton won the Ontario Championship for reversible plows while Mackenzie Rinehart of Teeswater was third.

Brian McGavin of Walton won the reserve honoured in the Ontario championship class.

Jeff McGavin of Walton was second in the tractor, 2 furrow plow class.

Scott Thomas Elmwood was first in the horse plowing with jointer plows.
In horse plowing with sulky plows, for first time competitors, Shallow Lake's Donald Roi was first.

Katie Davenport of Owen Sound was third in the class for ages 20 and over, with 2 furrow plows.

In the Junior section for 10 to 15 year olds, Lucas Townsend of Blyth was first.

In the 16 to 19 age group with 2 furrow plows, third place went to Troy Leeming of Seaforth, with Owen Sound's Alison Davenport in fifth spot.
Erich Weber from Ayton was first in the 4 furrow class.
