Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance wants Canada to focus on Trans Pacific Partnership negotiations.

Length: 1:10

The Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance wants Canada to focus on the Trans Pacific Partnership when negotiators and trade ministers gather next week.

The Alliance has released an open letter to the leaders of all of Canada's political parties.

It admits some choices can wait until after the October 19th federal election -- the choice to participate fully when the T-P-P concludes must be made now.

The Alliance says negotiations are reaching a critical juncture with the other 11 countries at the table.

If Canada is not committed to concluding an agreement -- the group says our country will either be forced to accept what others negotiate or remain on the outside.

Great Lakes Grain says grain and oilseed crops across much of southwestern Ontario may be a bit better than expectations.

Spokesperson Don Kabbes took part in a recent evaluation tour that looked at thousands of acres.

It shows a lot of variability, he says the good patches may out number the bad.

Kabbes adds farmers are going to be surprised at some of the numbers that will be recorded by yield monitors in combines this year.
