It is a big weekend at the 49th annual Grey Bruce Farmers Week at the Elmwood Community Centre.

Today is Goat Day and tomorrow is Sheep Day -- two popular days that attract producers from across the province.

Co-organizer Ray Robertson tells us they have expanded Goat Day over the years to meet the demand in the industry.

Richard Ehrhardt  from Michigan State University will speak both today and tomorrow about goat and sheep production.

Peter and Amy Vingerhoeds will host two panels today -- one about record keeping and the other will be a virtual tour of their farm.

The trade show will also continue all weekend.

Sunday is also Horse Day -- and there will be programs for both adults and youth.

Holstein Canada has named 21 Master Breeders for 2015.

The Master Breeder Shields recognize breeders for having mastered the art of breeding balanced cattle -- animals with high production and outstanding conformation combined with great production, health and longevity.

There's been a change of plans for Mayo Schmidt -- a former head of the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool and its successor Viterra.

Schmidt was expected to become CEO of Louis Dreyfus Commodities.

However, the Netherlands based company has changed its mind.

Agrium has agreed to sell two storage and distribution facilities in Illinois for 50 million dollars.

The facilities are being purchased by subsidiaries of Trammo, a private company headquartered in New York.

The deal is expected to close by the end of the first quarter.
