By Manny Paiva

Murray is appealing two vote margin loss to Wydeven for Huron Perth seat on Dairy Farmers of Ontario board.

Length: 1:10

The election of the representative for Huron Perth on the Dairy Farmers of Ontario board has been appealed.
Henry Wydeven of St Mary's had won by two votes over incumbent, David Murray.

But Murray is appealing the decision to the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food Tribunal.
They will hear the case on December 30th.

This year's corn yield in Ontario may end up higher than the provincial five year average.

Greg Stewart is a Corn specialist with the Ministry of Agriculture -- he figures it will settle in the 155 to 160 bushels an acre range.

The five year average is 153 and a half bushels an acre.

Stewart says the year got off to a slow start with cool, wet conditions -- with most of the crop planted in the first ten days of May.

The National Farmers Union is worried worried multinational corporations would reap too much power under a new federal bill on seeds.

The NFU is urging the federal government to change the Agricultural Growth Act before it takes effect next fall.

The bill would bring Canadian rules on seeds in line with an international convention.

Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz says it would encourage more plant-breeding investment in Canada.
