New Trade Deal with EU

Canadian Cattlemen's Association looks at a larger trade market for Canadian cattle producers.

The Canadian Cattlemen's Association is excited about negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement between Canada and the European Union.

Martin Unrau says the pending trade deal will give Canadian cattle producers a larger market to make more money.

Unrau -- who was in Chesley last week -- says the biggest concern at home is getting more young people farming cattle.

He adds they will also work to improve the consumption of beef in Canada -- since it is down slightly.

The peach crop in Ontario looks good.

Sarah Marshall of the Ontario Tender Fruit Producers Marketing Board says the peach crop is early and it's super sweet and juicy.

Glen Lucas of the B-C Fruit Growers Association says the apricot harvest is just beginning -- and peaches should be ready in a couple of weeks.
