Sixth season of Meaford Market opens for the first time today
Here's another sign the agriculture industry is improving.
BMO Economics says agriculture is a good investment.
B-M-O Capital Markets says strong emerging market demand and supply constraints will benefit producers.
The report says that suggests the prices for key farm commodities are rising.
The Meaford Farmers Market opens for the first time today.
This is the 6th season for the market at Meaford's harbour -- and President Jane Elzby has asked for permanent signage to tell everyone they are open.
Director Mark Grahlman says they have a new program this year called the "Farmers Chef" -- where a Chef from Cobble Beach will prepare samples of market food and offer cooking tips.
In fact, all of the vendors will offer free samples this year -- and live local music returns to the market.
The Meaford Farmers Market will be open at the harbour pavilion from 3 till 7 every Friday until Thanksgiving.
