Grey County Federation of Agriculture checking facilities in Hamilton, Guelph.
Farmers in our region are going on a tour tomorrow.
Gail Fullerton of the Grey County Federation of Agriculture tells us they are going to Parrish and Heimbecker's new docking facility at the Hamilton harbour.
Secretary Treasurer Gail Fullerton says many farmers wanted to know what became of their crops and expressed an interest in that facility.
The farmers will also tour Guelph's Waste Treatment Plant, which turns biosolids are turned into fertilizer for farmers fields.
It's operated by Lystek -- the same company that wants to build a waste to fertilizer plant in Dundalk.
There are still spaces available on the bus for tomorrow's trip.
If you are interested in going -- call the Federation office in Hanover.
There is another workshop about the Environmental Farm Plan.
It takes place tomorrow in Walkerton and there is no charge.
Farmers and landowners in the area can attend the session and find out if their farm is environmentally sound -- and also learn ways to manage the operation.
If you are interested -- call Jayne at 367-5930.
