Prices from Tuesday at the Keady Market.


At the Keady Livestock sale on Tuesday, 444 head of stocker cattle and cows were on offer.

All classes of replacement cattle sold on brisk demand at steady prices.

Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold up to a dollar 99 per pound and the same in heifers sold up to a dollar 64.

Steers from 600 to 800 pounds sold from a dollar 35 to a dollar 65 per pound and the same weight of heifers sold from a dollar 40 to a dollar 57.

Steers 800 to 11 hundred pounds sold from a dollar 26 to a dollar 51 and heifers to a dollar 37.

At the hog barn, 54 dollar calves were on offer, selling at steady prices.

Holstein male calves weighing from 100 to 150 pounds sold from 120 to 200 dollars per head.

Market lambs 50 to 64 pounds sold up to 260 dollars per hundred weight while a herd of bred Ewes topped at 325 dollars per head.

At the small animal sale, Guinea Fowl sold to 8 dollars per bird while Golden Pheasants stopped at 10.

Laying Hens sold from 50 cents to 2 dollars per bird while Bred Does topped at 11.
