Prices from Tuesday at the Keady Market.


At the Keady Livestock sale on Tuesday, 727 head of stocker cattle and cows were on offer.

Good quality stocker and feeder cattle sold on active demand at strong prices.

Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold to a dollar 98 per pound and the same in heifers sold up to a dollar 75.

Steers from 600 to 800 pounds sold from a dollar 55 to a dollar 73 per pound and the same weight in heifers sold from a dollar 44 to a dollar 69.

Steers 800 to a thousand pounds sold from a dollar 30 to a dollar 50, and heifers to a dollar 47.

Cull cows sold from 59 to 69 cents per pound and bulls from 79 to 87 cents.

At the hog barn, 57 dollar calves were on offer, selling steady.

Holstein male calves weighing from 100 to 150 pounds sold from 60 to 235 dollars per head.

Market lambs 50 to 64 pounds sold up to 305 dollars per hundred weight while billy goats topped at 300 dollars per head.

At the small animal sale, Peacocks sold to 40 dollars each while Chantacler Poultry sold to 14.

Banty Roosters sold for 6 dollars apiece while Lion Doe Rabbits topped at 5.
