Prices from Tuesday at the Keady Market.


At the Keady Livestock sale on Tuesday, 331 head of stocker cattle and cows were on offer.

All classes of stocker cattle sold on strong demand at fully steady prices.

Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold to a dollar 82 per pound and the same in heifers sold up to a dollar 74.

Steers from 600 to 800 pounds sold from a dollar 41 to a dollar 65 per pound and the same weight in heifers sold from a dollar 34 to a dollar 58.

Steers 800 to a thousand pounds sold from a dollar 37 to a dollar 50 and heifers to a dollar 34.

At the hog barn, 45 dollar calves were on offer, selling higher.

Holstein male calves weighing from 100 to 150 pounds sold from 150 to 265 dollars per head.

Market lambs 50 to 64 pounds sold up to 250 dollars per hundred weight while Nannies topped 95 dollars per head.

At the small animal sale, Khaki Ducks sold to 2 dollars per bird while Pigeons stopped at one dollar.

Guinea Fowl reached 9 dollars while Laying Hens topped at 50 cents.
