A busy day reported at Keady market today.
At the Keady Livestock sale on Tuesday, 1144 head of stocker and feeder cattle, cows and bulls were on offer. Good quality vaccinated calves sold on strong demand at fully steady prices while unvaccinated second cut calves sold barely steady.
Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold to two dollars 45 five cents per pound and heifers to a dollar ninety four.
Steers from 600 to 800 pounds sold from a dollar twenty nine to a dollar sixty nine per pound and the same range in heifers traded to a dollar fifty one.
Steers 800 to 1000 pounds sold from a dollar fifteen to a dollar forty two and heifers to a dollar thirty four.
At the hog barn, 60 dollar calves were on offer, selling at higher prices.
Holstein male calves sold from fifty to three hundred and forty dollars apiece.
Market lambs sold from 165.00 to 212.50 per head while Boer Billy goats sold up to 157.00 per head.
At the small animal sale, Barred Rock Roosters sold up to six dollars while Bred Doe Rabbits reached seven. Laying hens traded up to three dollars each while Tom Turkeys topped at twenty six.
