Prices from Tuesday at the Keady Market.


At the Keady Livestock sale on Tuesday -- 703 head of stocker and feeder cattle, cows and bulls were on offer.

All classes of cattle sold on good demand at steady prices.

Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold to a dollar 77 per pound and heifers to a dollar 49.

Steers from 600 to 800 pounds sold from a dollar 34 to a dollar 62 per pound and the same range in heifers traded from a dollar 17 to a dollar 39.

Yearling steers 800 to a thousand pounds sold from a dollar 16 to a dollar 30 per pound and the same in heifers sold to a dollar 23.

Cull cows sold at a range from 55 to 74 cents per pound.

At the annual Saunders Charolais Bull Sale on Saturday -- 26 top quality charolais bulls on offer sold at an average of four thousand and four dollars each.

At the hog barn, 76 dollar calves were on offer, selling at lower prices.

Holstein male calves weighing over 100 pounds sold from 75 to 212 dollars apiece.

Lightweight market lambs -- 50 to 64 pounds -- sold up to 2 dollars and 71 cents per pound.

At the small animal sale, Broad Breaster Bronze Turkey Chicks sold to 8 dollars per piece while Muscovy Ducks stopped at 15.

New Zealand Doe Rabbits traded at the 10 dollar mark while New Zealand Bucks reached 13.
