Keady Livestock Report


Prices from Tuesday at the Keady Market.


At the Keady Livestock sale on Tuesday -- 604 head of stocker and feeder cattle, cows and bulls were on offer.

Good quality replacement cattle continued to sell on strong demand at fully steady prices.

Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold to a dollar 67 per pound and heifers to a dollar 44.

Steers from 600 to 800 pounds sold from a dollar 24 to a dollar 50 per pound and the same range in heifers traded from a dollar 14 to a dollar 34.

Yearling steers 800 to a thousand pounds sold from a dollar 27 to a dollar 30 per pound and the same in heifers sold to a dollar 20.

Cull cows sold at a range from 58 to 70 cents per pound and bulls from 76 to 87.

At the hog barn, 64 dollar calves were on offer, selling at steady prices.

Holstein male calves weighing over 100 pounds sold from 70 to 250 dollars apiece.

Lightweight market lambs -- 50 to 64 pounds -- sold up to 2 dollars and 79 cents per pound and Billy Goats topped at 240 dollars each.

At the small animal sale, Arcona green egg laying Poultry sold to 12 dollars per bird while Muscovy Ducks stopped at 13.

Mature Tom Turkeys sold for 15 dollars while Male Ringneck Pheasants stopped at 16.
