And an Alberta rancher and his dad managed to hold an alleged fuel thief by tying him up with a lasso until police arrived.
Kris Lynch spotted tire tracks that led to his fuel tanks at his ranch last week.
He and his father managed to stop the man they found as he tried to drive away in a truck.
RCMP say they've been after a fuel thief in the area for months.
