Keady Livestock Report


Prices from Tuesday at the Keady market.


At the Keady Livestock sale on Tuesday -- 419 head of stocker and feeder cattle, cows and bulls were on offer.

All classes of replacement cattle sold on good demand at steady prices.

Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold to a dollar 50 per pound and heifers to a dollar 27.

Steers from 600 to 800 pounds sold from a dollar 22 to a dollar 26 per pound and the same range in heifers traded from 99 cents to a dollar 13.

Yearling steers 800 to a thousand pounds sold from a dollar 19 to a dollar 21 per pound and the same in heifers sold to a dollar 4.

At the hog barn, 22 dollar calves were on offer, selling at steady prices.

Holstein male calves weighing over 100 pounds sold from 80 to 92 dollars apiece.

Lightweight market lambs sold up to 3 dollars and 46 cents per pound and rams topped at 110 dollars each.

At the small animal sale, Muscovy drakes sold to 4 dollars per bird while Bred Does stopped at 5.

Guinea Fowl sold to 4 dollars apiece and buck rabbits stopped at 2.
