Prices from Tuesday at the Keady Market.


At the Keady Livestock sale on Tuesday -- 1216 head of quality reputation calves selling in the special Georgian Bay Charolais club presort sale sold on strong demand.

Steer calves up to 500 pounds sold to a dollar 63 per pound and heifers to a dollar 49.

Steers from 500 to 600 pounds sold up to a dollar 40 per pound to a dollar 60 and the same range in heifers traded to a dollar 21 to a dollar 42.

Steers from 600 to 800 pounds sold from a dollar 25 to a dollar 48 per pound and the same range in heifers from a dollar 12 to a dollar 42.

At the hog barn, 85 dollar calves were on offer, selling at barely steady prices.

Holstein male calves weighing over 100 pounds sold from 95 to 135 dollars apiece.

New crop lambs sold up 2.60 per pound  while billy goats sold up to two hundred and twenty two dollars per head.

At the small animal sale, Muscovy drakes sold up to 10 dollars per bird while Peacocks sold up to 35. Lady Amherst pheasants sold to 9 dollars a piece while turkeys reached 15.
