Prices from Tuesday at the Keady Market.


At the Keady Livestock sale on Tuesday -- 1412 head of replacement cattle, cows and bulls were on offer.

All classes of stocker cattle sold on strong demand at slightly higher prices.

Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold to a dollar 44 per pound and heifers to a dollar 31.

Steers from 600 to 800 pounds sold up to a dollar 38 per pound and the same range in heifers traded to a dollar 17.

Yearling steers up to 1000 pounds sold from a dollar 8 to a dollar 16 and the same in heifers sold to a dollar 10.

Cull cows sold from 42 to 61 cents per pound and bulls up to 69.

At the hog barn, 62 dollar calves were on offer, selling at slightly higher prices.

Holstein male calves weighing over 100 pounds sold from 60 to 175 dollars apiece.

Market lambs from 50 to 65 pounds sold up to 2 dollars and 7 cents per pound while heavier lambs stopped at a dollar 90.

At the small animal sale, Pheasants sold up to 21 dollars per bird while Cockatiels topped at 31.

Turkey Chicks sold to 5 dollars per bird while mature Royal Palm Turkeys ended at 22.
