Keady Livestock Report

Prices from Tuesday at the Keady Market.

At the Keady livestock sale on Tuesday -- 392 head of replacement cattle, cows and bulls were on offer.

All classes of stocker cattle sold on strong demand at steady prices

Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold up to a dollar 47 per pound and heifers to a dollar 8.

Steers from 600 to 800 pounds sold up to a dollar 28 per pound, and the same range in heifers traded to a dollar 13.

Yearling steers up to a 1050 pounds sold from a dollar three to a dollar 10, and the same in heifers sold to a dollar 6.

Cull cows sold from 44 to 56 cents per pound and in bulls up to 68.

At the hog barn, 51 dollar calves were on offer, selling  at higher prices.

Holsteen male calves weighing over 100 pounds were sold from 75 to 130 dollars apiece.

Top market lambs sold up to 2.50 per pound while kid goats sold to 125 dollars.

At the horse ring,riding mares sold up to 4 hundred dollars each while Jenny donkeys topped at one hundred.

At the small animal sale Turkeys sold to 16 dollars per bird, while Geese traded from 16 to 27.


Ducks sold to 12 dollars apiece while Ringneck Pheasants topped at 17.
