Keady Livestock Report


Prices from Tuesday at the Keady Markets.


At the Keady livestock sale on Tuesday -- 814 head of replacement cattle, cows and bulls were on offer.

A good selection of  stocker cattle sold on strong demand at fully steady prices

Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold up to a dollar 41 per pound and heifers to a dollar 22

Steers from 600 to 800 pounds sold up to a dollar 17 per pound, and the same range in heifers traded to a dollar 17 and a half.

Yearling steers up to a 1050 pounds sold to a dollar15 and the same in heifers sold to a dollar 3.

Cull cows sold from 42 to 48 cents per pound and in bulls up to 86.

At the hog barn, 103 dollar calves were on offer, selling  at steady prices.

Holsteen male calves weighing over 100 pounds were sold from 35 to 140 dollars apiece.

Top market lambs sold up to 2.27 per pound while kid goats sold to 118 dollars.

At the small animal sale Love birds sold to 20 dollars while turkeys reached 21.

Golden Pheasants sold to 17 dollars while Ringneck pheasants stopped at 20.
