Keady Livestock Report


Prices from Tuesday at the Keady Market.


At the Keady livestock sale on Tuesday -- 268 head of replacement cattle, cows and bulls were on offer.

A light summer run of quality stocker cattle sold on strong demand at fully stready prices.

Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold up to a dollar 30 per pound and heifers to a dollar 13.

Steers from 600 to 800 pounds sold up to a dollar 24 per pound, and the same range in heifers traded to a dollar 15.

Yearling steers up to a thousand  one hundred pounds sold to a dollar 8 and the same in heifers sold to a dollar two.

Cull cows sold from 44 to 59 cents per pound and in bulls up to 68.

At the hog barn, 47 dollar calves were on offer, selling  at higher  prices.

Holsteen male calves weighing over 100 pounds were sold from 65 to 165 dollars apiece.

Lightweight market lambs sold up to 2.05 per pound while heavy lambs sold to one sixty five.

Nubian Boer cross Billy goats sold up to 400 dollars per head.

At the small animal sale Peafowl sold up to 40 dollars per bird while Turkeys topped at 16.

Rouen duck drakes sold up to 10 dollars apiece while Muscovy drakes stopped at 11.
