Keady Livestock Report


Prices from Tuesday at the Keady Markets.


At the Keady livestock sale on Tuesday -- 340 head of replacement cattle, cows and bulls were on offer.

Good quality short keep feeder cattle sold on strong demand at fully steady prices.

Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold up to a dollar 30 per pound

Steers from 600 to 800 pounds sold up to a dollar 26 per pound, and the same range in heifers traded to a dollar 15.

Yearling steers up to a thousand pounds sold to a dollar 5 and the same in  heifersfrom 93 to 96.

Cull cows sold from 42 to 58 cents per pound and in bulls up to 66.

At the hog barn, 53 dollar calves were on offer, selling at barely steady prices.

Holsteen male calves weighing over 100 pounds were sold from 60 to 157 dollars apiece.

Lightweight lambs sold to 2 dollars and 17 cents  per pound while market goat kids topped at one hundred sixty five per head.

At the small animal Rosecomb bantam poultry sold to 8 dollars per bird while Guinea fowl reached 9.

Silver Pheasants traded up to 15 dollars apiece while Indian Blue Peacocks stopped at 35.
