Some stores will have cooler sections for Georgian Bay apples.
Keep it cool -- that is the advice from Brian Gilroy about how to store your apples.
Gilroy is a Grey County apple producer and also is the chair of the Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association.
He says for maximium freshness, keep the fruit in the fridge.
There is even more good news for producers.
Gilroy says that the food chain Sobeys is converting some of its Pricechoper stores and turning them into Freshco stores.
He says what's important about that move, is they will be putting Georgian Bay area apples in refrigerated display cases, which will keep the fruit much fresher and should help increase sales of the apples.
