Keady Livestock Report


Prices from Tuesday at the Keady Markets.


At the Keady Livestock sale on Tuesday, 1140 head of  replacement cattle, cows and bulls were on offer.

All classes of stocker and feeder cattle sold on strong demand at higher prices.

Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold up to a dollar 36 per pound and heifers to a dollar 20.

Steers from 600 to 800 pounds sold up to a dollar 34 per pound and the same range in heifers traded to a dollar 18.

Yearling steers up to one thousand pounds sold to a dollar four  and heifers to 94.

Cull cows sold from 44 to 61 cents per pound and cull bulls sold to seventy three.

At the hog barn, 54 dollar calves were on offer selling at slightly higher prices..

Holstein male calves weighing over 100 pounds sold from 85 to 175 dollars apiece.

New crop lambs lambs sold to 2.45 per  pound while heavy lambs stoped at a dollar ninety.

At the small animal sale, Lady amherst pheasants sold to 16 dollars per bird while Peahens topped at 50.

Laying hens sold up to 7 dollars apiiece while Muscovy drakes stopped at 13.
