The holiday weekend marks opening of several markets.
The Victoria Day Long weekend is not only the unofficial begining of the summer season -- it's also the begining of the Seasonal Farmers Market season as well.
This summer there will be 14 farmers markets of varying size operating in the Grey, Bruce and Simcoe Counties -- 12 which will be open this weekend.
On Friday afternoon and evenings, markets will be open in Markdale, in Williamsford and Durham.
Two other Friday markets open this weekend -- in downtown Walkerton and another in Wiarton at Bluewater Park.
The other markets are all open on Saturday morning.
They are located in Collingwood at the corner of Second and Pine Streets, the Flesherton and District Farmers Market, the Holstein Farmers Market, Paisley Farmers Market, Kincardine Farmers Market and the Lions Head Farmers Market at the Beach Pavilion.
