Keady Livestock Report


Prices from Tuesday at the Keady Market.


At the Keady Livestock sale on Tuesday, 788 head of stockers, feeders cows and bulls were on offer.

Good quality replacement cattle sold on brisk demand at fully steady prices.

Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold up to a dollar 36 per pound and heifers to a dollar 23.

Steers from 600 to 800 pounds sold up to a dollar 27 per pound and the same range in heifers traded to a dollar 10.

Yearling steers up to one thousand pounds sold to a dollar 2 and heifers to 94 cents.

Cull cows sold from 40 to 51 cents per pound and cull bulls sold up to 58 cents.

At the hog barn, 103 dollar calves were on offer selling at easier prices.

Holstein male calves weighing over 100 pounds sold from 65 to 150 dollars apiece.

New crop lambs sold to 3 dollars and 10 cents per pound and billy goats up to  180 dollars each.

At the small animal sale, Muscovy drakes sold up to 14 dollars per bird while Gander geese sold to 13.

Turkeys sold up to 18 dollars and peafowl stopped at 77.
