Keady Livestock Report


Prices from Tuesday at the Keady Market.


At the Keady Livestock sale on Tuesday, 907 head of stockers, feeders, cows and bulls were on offer.

Good quality replacement cattle sold on brisk demand at slightly higher prices.

Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold up to a dollar 35 per pound and heifers to a dollar 18.

Steers from 600 to 800 pounds sold up to a dollar 27 per pound and the same range in heifers traded to a dollar 9.

Yearling steers up to 1000 pounds sold to 99 cents and heifers to 92.

Cull cows sold at higher prices, from 30 to 58 cents per pound and cull bulls sold up to 52.

At the hog barn, 106 dollar calves were on offer, selling at slightly higher prices.

Holstein male calves weighing over 100 pounds sold from 71 to 150 dollars apiece.

Lightweight market lambs sold to 2 dollars and 80 cents per pound and billy goats up to 195 dollars each.

At the small animal sale, Muscovy ducks and drakes sold from 6 to 15 dollars per bird while ready to lay pullets stopped at 9.

Meat rabbits traded to 8 dollars apiece while bred does stopped at 19.
