Keady Livestock Report


Prices from Tuesday at the Keady market.


At the Keady livestock sale on Tuesday, 706 head of stockers, feeders, cows and bulls were on offer.

A good selection of replacement cattle sold on good demand at steady prices.

Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold up to a dollar 35 per pound and heifers to a dollar 14.

Steers from 600 to 800 pounds sold up to a dollar 24 per pound and the same range in heifers traded to a dollar 5.

Yearling steers up to 1000 pounds sold from 93 cents to 1 dollar.

Cull cows sold at steady prices, from 39 to 49 cents per pound and cull bulls sold up to 52.

At the hog barn 76 dollar calves were on offer, selling at slightly higher prices.

Holstein male calves weighing over 100 pounds sold from 65 to 170 dollars apiece.

Lightweight market lambs sold to 2 dollars and 55 cents per pound and Billy goatsup to 190 dollars each.

At the small animal sale, Muscovy ducks and drakes sold from 6 to 12 dollars per bird.

Chucker Partridges up to 7 dollars and Golden Pheasants topped at 20.
