Keady Livestock Report


Prices from Tuesday at the Keady Market.


At the Keady Livestock sale on Tuesday a total of 465 head of cattle were on offer.

All classes of stocker cattle sold on good demand at slightly higher prices.

Steer Calves up to 600 pounds sold up to a dollar 37 and heifers to a dollar 17.

Steer calves from 600 to 800 pounds sold up to a dollar 19 and the same range in heifers traded from 87 cents to a dollar 9.

Yearling steers 800 to 1000 pounds sold from 84 cents to a dollar per pound and the same in heifers sold from 71 cents to a dollar.

Cull cows sold in a price range from 35 to 45 cents per pound and cull bulls up to 58 cents.

At the hog barn 87 dollar calves were on offer selling at barely steady prices.

Holstein  male calves weighing over 100 pounds sold from 35 dollars 115.

Billy goats sold up to 250 dollars while Nanny goats stopped at 115.

At the small animal sale, Golden Polish poultry sold for 8 dollars per bird while Sebrite roosters stopped at six.

Mature rabbits sold up to 11 dollars while Pheasants topped at 13.
