Wiarton is famous for Willie - but they also host a fall fair that features some great family activities.
Vice President of the Wiarton and District Ag Society Ruth Ann Snelling says the 141st edition of the fair starts Friday night at 7 PM -- and feature competitions that make their fair stand out from the crowd.
Friday night there are the farmer olympics where area farmers compete in matches of hay bale throwing - nail driving and more.
Snelling says Saturday features an event for babies.
Snelling says popularity for the home crafts and baking exhibits continues and will be showcased on Saturday.
There is also a food booth on the grounds with something for everyone.
Chatsworth is a busy town this weekend with the fall fair going on.
The fair runs Friday to Sunday at the community centre.
Rhonda Brainard has been involved in the fair as secretary for many years and says this is the 149th edition.
There is a ball game Friday night featuring the Bayshore Broadcasting No Stars.
Then on Saturday there are exhibits - cattle shows and sheep shows - a children's corner - kids pony rides and a dance.
Sunday features the sunlight men's quartet performing which normally brings in 500 people - followed by a community lunch.
Also this weekend are Fall Fairs in Harriston, Shelburne and Feversham.
