Keady Livestock Report


Prices from Tuesday at the Keady market.


A busy day at the Keady Livestock sale on Tuesday -- 11 hundred and 62 head of stocker and feeder cattle, cows and bulls were on offer.

Good quality replacement stocker and feeder cattle sold on good demand at fully steady prices.

Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold to a dollar 84 per pound and heifers to a dollar 54.

Steers from 600 to 800 pounds sold from a dollar 31 to a dollar 53 per pound and the same range in heifers traded to a dollar 34.

Yearling steers 800 to a thousand pounds sold from a dollar 19 to a dollar 39 and heifers to a dollar 25.

Cull cows sold at a range from 44 to 63 cents per pound and cull bulls up to 73.

At the hog barn, 68 dollar calves were on offer, selling at easier prices.

Holstein male calves weighing 100 pounds sold from 50 to 132 dollars apiece.

Market lambs 50 to 64 pounds sold to 2 dollars and 2 cents per pound while boer wether goats sold up to 105 dollars per head.

At the small animal sale -- Ringneck pheasants sold up to 6 dollars a piece while Geese reached 9.

Seabright Silver Poultry traded up to 5 dollars a bird while Barred Rock Roosters topped at 6.
