Keady Livestock Report


Prices from Tuesday at the Keady market.


At the Keady Livestock sale on Tuesday -- 577 head of stocker and feeder cattle, cows and bulls were on offer.

All classes of stocker and feeder cattle sold on good demand at steady prices.

Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold to a dollar 73 per pound and heifers to a dollar 38.

Steers from 600 to 800 pounds sold from a dollar 32 to a dollar 54 per pound and the same range in heifers traded to a dollar 33.

Yearling steers 800 to a thousand pounds sold from a dollar 11 to a dollar 37 and heifers to a dollar 20.

Cull cows sold at a range from 55 to 70 cents per pound and cull bulls up to 76.

At the hog barn, 66 dollar calves were on offer, selling slightly easier.

Holstein male calves weighing over 100 pounds sold from 50 to 143 dollars apiece.

Market lambs 50 to 64 pounds sold to 2 dollars and 21 cents per pound while market kid goats sold up to 132 dollars and 50 cents per head.

At the small animal sale -- Geese sold up to 9 dollars a piece while Ducks reached 11.

Guinea Fowl traded up to 8 dollars per bird while rabbits topped at 11
