Keady Livestock Report


Prices from Tuesday at the Keady Market.


At the Keady Livestock sale on Tuesday -- a total of 412 cows and replacement cattle were on offer.

A good selection of mostly short keep replacement cattle sold on strong demand with price increases up to 3 dollars per cwt.

Yearling steers from 700 to 900 hundred pounds sold up to a dollar 10 to a dollar 20 while steers over 900 pounds sold to a dollar nine.

Yearling heifers up to 800 pounds sold up to a dollar ten.

Cull cows sold in a price range from 46 to 54 cents per pound and cull bulls up to 66.

At the hog barn, 78 dollar calves were on offer, selling at slightly higher prices.

Holstein male calves weighing over 100 pounds sold from 60 dollars to 110.

Lightweight market lambs sold up to a dollar 90 per pound and billy goats traded up to 235 dollars per head.

At the small animal sale, Peacocks sold up to 80 dollars per bird while Budgie birds stopped at 16.

Chucker partridges sold for six dollars each while love birds topped at 12.
