Prices from Tuesday at the Keady Market.


At the Keady Livestock sale on Tuesday -- a total of 175 cows and replacement cattle were on offer.

A light run of mostly short keep replacement cattle sold on moderate demand at fully steady prices.

Steer calves weighing from 600 to 800 pounds sold to a dollar 20 per pound.

Yearling steers from 800 to 11 hundred pounds sold up to a dollar 13 while no heifers were on offer.

Cull cows sold in a price range from 36 to 58 cents per pound and cull bulls up to 63.

At the hog barn, 100 dollar calves were on offer, selling at lower prices.

Holstein male calves weighing over 100 pounds sold from 50 dollars to 135.

Lightweight market lambs sold up to a dollar 97 per pound and nanny goats from 75 to 160 dollars per head.

At the small animal sale, Red Golden Pheasant chicks sold up to 9 dollars per bird while Arcona green egg laying bantams sold to 11.

Mother hen and chick families sold up to 26 dollars per unit while Guinea Fowl stopped at 9.
