Prices from Tuesday at Keady Livestock Market.


At the Keady livestock market on Tuesday, a total of 1363 cows and replacement cattle were on offer.

Good quality grass type stocker cattle sold on good demand at steady prices, while heavier short keep feeders sold 2 dollars per hundred weight lower.

Steer calves from 400 to 600 pounds sold up to 1.46 per pound and heifers to a 1.24.

Steer calves from 600 to 800 pounds sold to 1.32 per pound and heifers sold from 98 cents to a 1.21.

Yearling steers from 800 to 1000 pounds sold up to a dollar 15 and heifers traded from one dollar to a dollar 3.

Cull cows traded in a range from 42 cents to 56 and bulls up to 69.

At the hog barn, 86 dollar calves were on offer, selling at slightly higher prices.

Holstein male calves weighing over 100 pounds sold from 55 dollars to  235.

Lightweight market lambs sold up to 1.95 per pound.

At the small animal sale, Pomeranian Power Pigeons sold for four dollars per bird while speckled hamburg bantam poultry topped at six.

Pullets sold at the seven dollar mark while peacocks stopped at 35.
