A non-profit organization is making sure it will be a warm winter for everyone in the community.
HatsOnDufferin's goal is to ensure every person in the community - especially children - stay warm with a touque making and collecting initiative.
With donations of yarn they're hoping those that knit and crochet can help make hats that will be distributed to children and those needing some help and support.
Organizer Stephany St. Louis says the initiative also raises awareness about poverty issues.
There are several places to pick up free yarn around Dufferin County including in Shelburne at the library.
Finished touques can be dropped off at many locations including here at Country 105 on Industrial Road.
Deadline for hat drop off is Saturday November 4th, 2017.
Their goal is to collect 150 hats for each school in Dufferin County, for a total of 4,350 hats.
