The Heritage Music Festival officially kicks off today in Shelburne.

The 68th Canadian Open Old Time Fiddle Championship is back, with a variety of other shows and events surrounding the festival.

The campground opens at Fiddle Park today and tonight is the Country Jamboree and dance with Greg Holmes and Friends.

Most of the events are being held at the Centre Dufferin Rec Complex.

The Beckett Family will perform on Thursday night, and the Trews are in town Friday night.

There will be a couple of new additions such as the Small Town Girls performing downtown at 11:30 Saturday morning before the big parade at 1, and Bands and Brews will take place in Fiddle Park.

The Fiddle Championship Finals will be held Saturday night with the non denominational church service Sunday followed by a pork BBQ.
