The path is clear for Doug Ford after Christine Elliott conceded defeat in the Ontario Progressive Conservative leadership race.
In a statement, Elliott said she was confident in the results.
Her decision came 24 hours after Ford was declared the winner of the race.
Elliott also said in her statement that she still plans to seek a seat in the provincial election in June.
Ford took to Twitter to congratulate Elliott on her decision, saying they were united with one goal: "defeating the politically corrupt Wynne Liberals."
